Lionsgate’s big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins‘ novel The Hunger Games, hitting theaters next year, is the most anticipated film of 2012, a new poll conducted by MTV’s NextMovie.com suggests, topping the final installment of the Twilight saga.
Hunger Games, out March 23 and starring Jennifer Lawrence, grabbed more than half of the vote from movie fans, with 51 percent going its way. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, hitting theaters Nov. 16, followed close behind with 45 percent of the vote.
Unfortunately for the rest of the pack, including The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Avengers, the comic book films garnered a combined 4 percent of the vote.
